Chen-Yong Cher serves as CTO at Graphen[1]. Cher earned a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University in 1998, an M.S. in 1999, and a Ph.D. in 2004[2]. From 2004 to 2016, Cher worked as a Research Staff Member in the Computer Architecture Department at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, focusing on performance, thermal, process variation, power and soft error reliability for microprocessors[2]. During this tenure, Cher contributed to BlueGene/Q microarchitecture definition and served as principal power and soft error reliability architect[2]. Cher also hosted the CMOS Design Forum at IBM Research from 2013 to 2016[5] and served as IBM Corporate Liaison to the Semiconductor Research Corporation from 2012 to 2016[7].
