Envisagenics

AI platform (SpliceCore) targeting RNA splicing for oncology and neurodegeneration therapeutics[1][3]

Overview

Envisagenics is an AI-driven biotechnology company headquartered in Long Island City, New York[1]. Founded in 2014 as a spin-out from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory by co-founder and CEO Maria Luisa Pineda, PhD[4], the company describes itself as a woman- and minority-led organization[4]. Envisagenics discovers and develops therapeutic treatments by targeting RNA splicing for oncology and neurodegeneration using its AI platform SpliceCore[2]. SpliceCore is a cloud-based drug discovery platform that integrates machine learning with high performance computing and draws on a proprietary database of more than 14 million RNA splicing events[5]. The company has established research collaborations with Biogen, the Lung Cancer Initiative at Johnson & Johnson, and Bristol Myers Squibb[7]. In June 2024, Envisagenics announced a Series B funding round with participation from Third Kind Venture Capital, Empire State Development, Red Cell Partners, and Bristol Myers Squibb[6].
