Overview
Umut Isik is Co-Founder and CEO of Incept AI, a position held since December 2023[1][2]. Prior to founding Incept AI, Isik worked at Amazon Web Services in applied science and engineering leadership roles, serving as Principal Applied Scientist and Senior Manager from October 2021 to December 2023[3], and as Senior Applied Scientist from November 2018 to October 2021[4], with an overlapping period as Engineering Manager from October 2020 to April 2021[5]. Earlier career experience includes a position as Research Scientist and Research Lead at Helm.ai from July 2017 to October 2018[6], and a Visiting Assistant Professorship at UC Irvine from July 2014 to July 2017[7]. Isik holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania (2006–2011)[10], completed Part III Mathematics at the University of Cambridge (2005–2006)[11], and earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Bilkent University (2002–2006)[12].
