Rob Lake

Overview

Rob Lake holds the position of Group Head and Senior Managing Director for Life Sciences at Trinity Capital as of April 2022.[1][3] Lake has spent nearly three decades building, leading, and scaling specialty finance businesses serving venture-backed and growth-stage healthcare and life sciences companies.[2] Lake founded and scaled three lending platforms that originated more than $2 billion in loans and equity investments across approximately 300 transactions.[2] Prior to joining Trinity Capital, Lake served as Managing Director and Head of Life Sciences at Runway Growth Capital from 2020 to 2022,[4] and founded the Life Sciences group at Western Alliance Bank, where Lake worked from 2015 to 2020.[5] Lake's earlier career included roles at Oxford Finance LLC as Executive Director of Credit and Portfolio Management,[6] SVB Financial Group as Vice President of Technology and Life Science,[7] and positions at Fifth Third Bank, FINOVA Capital Corporation, and other financial institutions.[8][9] Lake earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Aurora University.[10]
