Matthias Tan

Overview

Matthias Tan is Co-Founder and COO at Normal Computing, a position Tan has held since June 2022[1][2]. Tan also serves as a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners, a role Tan has maintained since September 2020[3]. Prior to Normal Computing, Tan worked as Principal of Strategy and Partnerships at X, the moonshot factory, from April 2021 to June 2022[4]. Tan's earlier experience includes serving as Director of Product and Partnerships at Pony.ai from July 2018 to April 2021[5], and as a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group from January 2016 to June 2018[6]. Tan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, where Tan was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow from 2008 to 2015[7][10], and a Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum[11].
