Overview
Joyce Griggs serves as Executive Vice President and Provost at Manhattan School of Music, a position held since July 2018[5]. In this role, Griggs functions as Chief Academic Officer for the conservatory, which enrolls over 1,000 college students from more than 50 countries alongside 525 precollege students and nearly 350 faculty members[3]. Griggs holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned between 2006 and 2012[10], and a Master of Music in Performance with a cognate in Music History from the University of North Texas, completed between 1999 and 2002[11]. Prior to the Manhattan School of Music appointment, Griggs held positions at the Cleveland Institute of Music, including Interim Chief Academic Officer and Dean from 2016 to 2018[7][6]. Griggs has also served as a Fulbright Specialist since June 2023[4].
