Chu previously served as Head of Engineering at Meta from January 2020 to May 2023, overseeing SMB Ads Ranking, Instagram Shopping ML, and Avatars Store [5]. Prior to Meta, Chu held the position of Head of Engineering for Core Machine Learning at Opendoor from 2017 to 2020 [6]. Chu's earlier experience includes roles at Docker, Inc as Enterprise Group Lead and Principal Product Manager from 2014 to 2016 [7], and as CEO and Founder of Koality, Inc from 2012 to 2014, a company subsequently acquired by Docker [8]. Chu began their career as a Software Engineer at Palantir Technologies from 2011 to 2012 [9] and as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft Corporation in 2010 [10].
