Overview
Faris Sbahi is Co-Founder and CEO at Normal Computing[1], a position held since June 2022[3]. Sbahi's work focuses on tackling practical AI scaling and reliability challenges through unified approaches to physics and computation[2]. Prior to founding Normal Computing, Sbahi worked as a Research Scientist at X, the moonshot factory[4], and as a Software Engineer at Google[5]. Sbahi holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Duke University[11] and pursued doctoral study in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics before leaving the program[13]. During undergraduate and graduate studies, Sbahi held multiple research assistant positions at Duke University[6][7][9] and worked as a Teaching Assistant there[8], alongside a summer internship as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Palantir Technologies[10].
Profile introduction
Tackling key practical AI scaling and reliability challenges through unifying approaches to physics and computation. I love collaborating with other builders on mission-driven tech. I've scaled products and conducted research largely enabled by Bayesian and physics-inspired machine learning.
