Erik Bernhardsson

Erik Bernhardsson is co-founder and CEO of Modal Labs[1], a serverless cloud infrastructure platform for AI workloads[4]. He holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology[13]. Before founding Modal, Bernhardsson served as Chief Technology Officer at Better.com from February 2015 to January 2021[6], where he led the technology team's growth from 1 to 300 engineers[4]. Prior to Better.com, he worked at Spotify for approximately seven years beginning in 2008[4], holding positions as Software Engineer Intern, Engineering Manager, and later Engineering Manager through February 2015[9][10][7]. His earlier career included internships at Google Switzerland[12], D. E. Shaw & Co.[11], and Graham Capital Management[8]. Bernhardsson has a background in programming competitions[4].
