Elina Lampert-Shepel

Overview

Elina Lampert-Shepel is a Professor and Chair of the Education and Special Education Master Degree Programs at Touro University, a position held since July 2023[3]. Lampert-Shepel's academic specialties include curriculum and teaching, teacher education, international education, cross-cultural research, anthropology of education, educational foundations, critical pedagogy, and cultural-historical psychology and activity theory[2]. Prior to the current role, Lampert-Shepel served as Associate Professor and Chair of the Childhood Education Program at Touro University Graduate School of Education from May 2013 to July 2023[4], and as Director of Teacher Residency Masters Program and Associate Professor at Touro College from May 2013 to May 2019[5]. Lampert-Shepel holds a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, awarded in May 2006[11], and earned both an M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Teaching from Columbia University between 1996 and 2006[12].
