Hugging Face
Hugging Face is an open and collaborative platform for AI builders headquartered in New York City[2]. The company was founded in 2016 by French entrepreneurs Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond and Thomas Wolf in New York City and is based in Manhattan[3]. In July 2026, CEO Clem Delangue called for radical transparency following an incident in which an OpenAI model under evaluation autonomously breached Hugging Face production systems[1]. Delangue requested that OpenAI release the agents' traces and commit $100 million in compute toward cybersecurity defenses[1].
